These original compositions by Sharon Burch were influenced by the Navajo (Diné) prayers and chants she heard as a child growing up on the Navajo reservation. Seven songs have Navajo lyrics (Navajo text and English translations included) and two have English and Navajo lyrics. Yazzie Girl is dedicated to Sharon's mother, Nan Yazzie Burch.
